Foal Imaging: technique and interpretation

This workshop will review common and uncommon ultrasonographic and radiologic imaging techniques of the chest and abdomen in foals. Expert lectures and interactive discussions will focus on appropriate imaging protocols, recognition of patient-associated artifacts and accurate image interpretation.

This workshop will offer the perfect forum to discuss the latest imaging techniques as they apply in the field. This workshop is aimed at veterinarians in the field and clinicians in hospitals who regularly use traditional and advanced imaging techniques and want to hone their imaging skills, improve their diagnostic and interpretative skills, and get more insight into therapeutic strategies and outcomes. Residents-in-training are encouraged to attend this workshop and benefit from a reduced registration fee.

Topics included:

  • The pulmonary organs
  • The cardiovascular system
  • The abdomen
  • The skeletal system
  • Challenging lameness cases in foals
  • Sedation and anesthetic protocols in foals

Participants in this workshop can purchase access to the video recordings of all other pre-symposium workshops (except the ET and Semen Handling courses).
