The ESER 2024 will take place at the Ghent International Convention Center - Ghent ICC, Van Rysselberghedreef 2, Citadelpark, Ghent.
The ESER 2024 will take place on October 10-11, 2024.
Pre-Symposium ET Course: Dates: 8-9 October 2024
Lectures begin on Tuesday at 9:00 AM in the Novotel in Ieper. Lunches and dinner on Tuesday night are provided as well as transportation to the Keros ET Center on Wednesday morning. The course concludes on Wednesday at 5:00 PM. Transportation from Beselare to Ghent will be arranged at the end of the course.
Post-Symposium ET Course: Dates: 13-14 October 2024
Lectures start on Sunday at 9:00 AM in the Novotel in Ieper. Lunches and dinner on Sunday night are provided as well as transportation to the Keros ET Center on Monday morning.The course finishes on Monday at 5:00 PM. Transportation from Ghent to Beselare will be provided on Saturday afternoon.
Please visit the Registration Desk at the entrance of the ICC Convention Center. Your registration packet and symposium bag will be ready and waiting for you.
All participants must wear their symposium badge at all times. The badge grants you entry to the lecture halls, meals, and coffee breaks, and identifies you as an ESER participant. Your badge is included in the registration packet.
OPU-ICSI Workshop
Registration for the OPU-ICSI Workshop begins at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, October 9th at the registration desk in the ground floor of the ICC. The workshop starts at 9:30 AM and concludes between 17:00 and 18:00. Coffee breaks and lunch are included. At the end of the day, all participants are invited to a reception followed by dinner offered by GeneTech.
Semen Handling Course
Transportation from downtown Ghent to ERC De Morette will depart at 8:00 AM on Wednesday October 9th. Lectures at ERC De Morette will begin at 9:00 AM. Return transportation from ERC De Morette is scheduled to arrive back in Ghent by 18:30 PM.
Other Workshops
Registration for the afternoon Workshops begins at 13:00 on Wednesday, October 9th, at the registration desk in the ground floor of the ICC. The workshops start at 13:30 and conclude between 17:00 and 18:00. A coffee break will be offered half-way the afternoon.
Registration will open at 7h45 on Thursday October 10th, 2024. Lectures will start at 9:00. Coffee breaks and lunch are included on Thursday and Friday. On Thursday after the lectures, everyone is cordially invited to the reception and walking dinner at the ICC Center.
The ESER 2024 Symposium ends on Friday October 11th at 17h00.
Coffee breaks and lunches are included as well as the reception and walking dinner on Thursday evening. There will be vegetarian options at every meal.
You will be able to visit the commercial booths of our Sponsors during the morning coffee breaks, lunches, and during the reception and walking dinner. The booths will close after the coffee break on Friday afternoon.
There is a cloakroom where you can leave your belongings. If you plan to check out from your hotel on Friday morning, you can bring your luggage to the ICC and leave it at the cloakroom. There is no charge for this service.
Printed copies of the proceedings are available for €15 (+21% tax). You must reserve and pay for your copy BEFORE you arrive at the meeting (contact us to order). You can also download the proceedings for free.
For convenient parking close to the ICC Congress Center in Ghent, Belgium, you have several options:
- Sint-Pieters Station Parking: Located near the Ghent-Sint-Pieters train station, this parking facility offers ample space and is within walking distance of the ICC. Address: Koningin Maria Hendrikaplein 2, 9000 Gent.
- Parking Sint-Pietersplein: A large underground parking area near Sint-Pietersplein. It's also within a short walking distance to the ICC. Address: Sint-Pietersplein, 9000 Gent.
- Parking Gent Zuid: A bit further away, but well-connected by public transport. You can park here and take a tram or bus to the ICC. Address: Woodrow Wilsonplein, 9000 Gent.
- Street Parking: Limited street parking is available around the ICC, but be mindful of parking regulations and time limits.
To get from Brussels Airport (Zaventem) to downtown Ghent, you have several options:
By Train:
- Direct Train: The easiest and most common way is to take a direct train from Brussels Airport to Ghent.
- Route: Trains depart from Brussels Airport - Zaventem station.
- Duration: About 1 hour.
- Frequency: Trains run frequently, approximately every half hour.
- Tickets: You can purchase tickets at the airport train station or online via the Belgian Railways (SNCB/NMBS) website.
- FlixBus: Another option is taking a FlixBus from Brussels Airport to Ghent.
- Route: FlixBus services run directly to Ghent from the airport.
- Duration: About 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- Tickets: Tickets can be bought online via the FlixBus website.
- Taxi: You can take a taxi directly from the airport to Ghent.
- Duration: Approximately 1 hour, depending on traffic.
- Cost: This is the most expensive option, usually costing around €90-€120.
- Rideshare: Services like Uber are available from Brussels Airport.
- Duration: Similar to a taxi, around 1 hour.
- Cost: Slightly cheaper than taxis, but varies based on demand.
- Car Rental: If you prefer to drive yourself, you can rent a car at the airport.
- Route: Follow signs for E40 towards Gent.
- Duration: About 1 hour, depending on traffic.
- Parking: Look for parking options in downtown Ghent as it has several parking garages.
To get from Charleroi Airport (Brussels South Charleroi Airport) to downtown Ghent, you have several options:
By Bus and Train
- Shuttle Bus to Brussels and Train to Ghent:
- Step 1: Take the shuttle bus from Charleroi Airport to Brussels Midi/Zuid train station.
- Duration: About 1 hour.
- Frequency: Buses run approximately every 30 minutes.
- Tickets: You can purchase tickets online at the Flibco website.
- Step 2: From Brussels Midi/Zuid, take a direct train to Ghent (Gent-Sint-Pieters station).
- Duration: About 30-40 minutes.
- Frequency: Trains run frequently, about every 20-30 minutes.
- Tickets: Tickets can be purchased at the train station or online via the Belgian Railways (SNCB/NMBS) website.
- FlixBus:
- Route: FlixBus offers direct services from Charleroi Airport to Ghent.
- Duration: Approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes to 2 hours.
- Tickets: Tickets can be purchased online via the FlixBus website.
- Taxi:
- Duration: Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- Cost: This is the most expensive option, typically costing around €150-€200.
- Rideshare:
- Services like Uber may be available from Charleroi Airport.
- Duration: Similar to a taxi, around 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- Cost: Slightly cheaper than taxis, but varies based on demand.
